FESTIVAL BENEFICIARIES- Where the money goes

To date over 4.2 million has been donated to these three organizations.

PETERBOROUGH REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE FOUNDATION
www.prhc.on.ca/foundation
Funds donated to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation are used to purchase medical equipment and new technology to help ease pain, restore health and save lives. The proceeds of the 2007 Festival will go towards the $10 million by your side fundraising campaign. Investments include a new MRI and a more sophisticated CT scanner, a second cardiac catheterization lab, surgical tools and new medical equipment for the pediatrics, ER and ICU departments. At some point, PRHC will be at the centre of our lives, offering expert healthcare during times of joy and sadness, illness and injury, relief and recovery. With modern medical equipment and state-of-the art technology, our medical professionals can do their very best for patients.

HOSPICE PETERBOROUGH
www.hospicepeterborough.org
Hospice Peterborough provides caring support and helpful information, in a welcoming environment, to those who are affected by life threatening illness or grief. "Hospice is not about dying, it's about living." Our range of services includes volunteer visiting, support groups for those living with serious illness, day programs, pain and symptom consultation, caregiver support, family support, information and education, and grief support for adults, children and adolescents. Hospice staff and volunteers work together to provide this care to our clients throughout the city and county of Peterborough as well as at our hospice home 439 Rubidge Street.

The proceeds from the Festival of Trees ensure that Hospice Peterborough can provide all our hospice services at no charge to everyone in the city and county of Peterborough who requires them.

ST. JOSEPH'S CARE FOUNDATION
www.sjcf.ca
At the St. Joseph's Care Foundation, we believe a healthy community is a strong and vibrant community. No longer fundraising for hospital needs, due to the closure of St. Joseph's Health Centre, we're building on a 20 year tradition of continued caring - dedicating our efforts to achieving our vision of a healthy tomorrow for all through the promise of life-long healthy aging. For the past seven years, the money raised at Festival of Trees has been dedicated to the Capital Campaign for St. Joseph's at Fleming, to support the construction of this unique and innovative long-term care facility. Thanks to this community over $600,000 has been raised to make this vision of healthy aging in a long-term care setting, a reality. As a charitable organization, the Foundation also raises funds and develops partnerships in support of innovative and compassionate capital, research and education initiatives within our community. Partnership support has been provided to many not for profit organizations and projects, including Community Living, Community Care Peterborough, Canadian Hearing Society, Activity Haven, Ontario Audio Library Services, Camp Kawartha, the Fall Prevention Network (under the auspices of the Peterborough County-City Health Unit) and the YMCA. With our commitment to St. Joseph's at Fleming Capital Campaign now at an end, we are looking forward to developing relationships and working in partnership with new and exciting community projects worthy of our Festival proceeds.

In the year 2006, $231,000.00 was distributed equally among these three organizations making a grand total of over $4,230,000.00

Your attendance at this year's Festival of Trees, November 20-25, 2007, and the pre-Festival events will benefit your family, friends and your community
